It took Trevor quite a long time to be able to accept a concept or a label for his music. From performing solo to his various different bands, nothing quite explained the transformational flow of his life and music.
It began at a young age with the gift of a guitar and a fascination for hippie rock icons. By 17, Trevor was playing in bars and knew music was more than just a hobby. Once his passion caught a fire, there was no stopping the heat. It didn’t matter if Trevor had to hop a train or borrow a bicycle, music was his medicine and running deep within his blood. It was under a willow tree that Trevor’s performing seed was nurtured to the next stage, and soon it became so plentiful a trio of roses emerged. Through the beauty and the thorns and changing of seasons, one thing perpetually become crystal clear….
He is the product of the Current Situation. We are all a product of our current situation, especially in today’s technologically advanced and interconnected world. This also translates directly to Trevor and his songs, music, and performances. With the real struggle to label him and his variety of sounds and noises, his use of the looping pedal, his imaginary trumpet player, his unique version of the same song each time it’s performed, and even his dyslexic scrambling of words from time to time. All of these used to make Trevor think that he was doing it wrong, that his lack of strict consistency and conforming to the norms of music was somehow holding him back from everyone else. That was, however, until the moment he realized he could define himself, his eclectic sound, and his sometimes-changing cast of other talented humans he shares a stage with, and that, in itself, is The Current Situation.
The Current Situation is fluid like water, creating a river from a multitude of musical genres, experiences, and co-players. With the strongest currents in rock, bluegrass, reggae, and jam bands, each performance is, in many ways, a unique and stellar phenomenon. Just like the current of water, the music is deeply transforming, shifting, growing, and most of all, persisting. "So let's roll with vibes and create the current, just like the ocean, it’s an all-encompassing force". So let's jam!
Music will never cease for Trevor, and with his deadhead sidekick Shoreline by his pedalboard side and a firm foundation of loving family and friends, he asks you to join him and ride the Current Situation together.
